As a new era of digital payments began to emerge, PayPoint were finding themselves behind the competition. The main drive behind the new look was the need to transform them from a bricks-and-mortar business into a digital-first brand.

A simple and iconic illustration toolkit and system provided PayPoint with a quick an easy way for their customers to identify a single service they needed, or as a means of showcasing the breadth of services PayPoint had on offer.

When combined with photography, the illustration provided a direct link between old and new, analogue and digital.

The Emotional Alphabet was originally designed as a poster for my newborn niece. I soon saw there could be a bit more ambition for the piece and began designing and developing the illustrations into an educational piece.

The Emotional Alphabet's aim is to educate everyone — young and old — about the range of emotions we have. The insanely talented team at Buff Motion helped elevate the character far beyond what I had originally imagined and brought each and every character to life.
